Welcome to Sound Start Babies!
life-changing early intervention for infants and toddlers with hearing loss
Founded in 1996, Sound Start Babies provides life-changing early intervention services to infants and toddlers with hearing loss so that they may develop language, speech and communication skills commensurate with those of their hearing peers. Through our one-of-a-kind inclusive nursery program, in-home intervention, and telehealth services, we ensure children receive the highest quality, research validated educational services, and that their parents and caregivers have the information, strategies and support to foster this development throughout childhood.
Sound Start Babies now serves families in all 21 counties of New Jersey, offering various programs throughout the year beyond the core services, including a virtual family music class, alumni engagement opportunities, and a parent sign class. In addition, we host a monthly Toddler Story Time at the local library and present often to community organizations.

What We Do
Home & Community
We provide specialized services for your child and family in your home, daycare or in other community settings, or virtually via teleintervention.
Nursery Classrooms
The only program of its kind in New Jersey, the Sound Start Babies Nursery provides an opportunity for toddlers with and without hearing loss to learn together in either Listening and Spoken Language or Total Communication classrooms.
Additional Services
Sound Start Babies Program offers research supported services, incorporating new technologies and strategies designed to provide continuity of care both during and beyond your early intervention journey.
Who We Are
The Sound Start Babies team is a group of parent infant specialists from a range of disciplines each of whom has specialized training and experience in working with very young children with hearing loss.
