Sound Start Babies is a nonprofit program providing life-changing, early intervention services, family support and nursery programs to children born deaf or hard of hearing. State funding covers significantly less than half of the cost of the program and because of donors like you, Sound Start Babies continues to meet the needs of these babies and toddlers throughout New Jersey.
For the 2 to 3 out of 1000 babies born with hearing loss, the first three years of life are critical. Our focus on early intervention changes the way that a child’s brain functions, giving them the opportunity to develop language, speech and communication skills commensurate with those of their hearing peers. Rallying around each child’s family, we provide caregivers the tools to foster this development through childhood. Sound Start Babies has been a pioneering program in NJ for nearly 30 years.
